DON'T try to find a NEW exact replacement CD/DVD Drive! Because they are
'exotic' they are super expensive ~ IF you can even find one.
Instead buy a
external USB CD/DVD Drive! Here's a technical description:
USB 2.0 External DVD ROM Combo CD±RW CD-ROM Burner Drive +2x Cable for PC Laptop.
About $10 new from eBay!
Note that MANY of these drives
requires TWO 'free' or unused USB ports. It's BETTER to pick on a drive WITH a external wall power supply to keep your USB ports free as possible.
Because of the AGE of your system do not expect to find drivers or upgrades for USB booting... you have enough problems!
IF your system still has it's SERIAL NUMBER tag on it YOU are in luck! You can find the Windows 98 CD for $8 on eBay!

a disk for your Satellite 4080XCDT?> A
CD will save you a TON of time trying to find these older drivers! He did mention a 4060 series but I was unable to locate one for the 4080.
