Hello, I have a problem with my Toshiba Satellite 4080XCDT, 1) CD does not work at all (damaged) 2) I cannot install WIN98 (because I do not have installation files on my HDD) 3) Toshiba Satellite 4080XCDT BIOS does not have option boot from USB Flush Kindly ask you to advise me how to fix a above mentioned problems. To Access the Bios Setup Utility Here Is A List Of Key Commands And The Make/Model They Are For..

Acer - Aspire, Power, Veriton, Extensa, Ferrari, TravelMate, Altos

• Press Del or F2 immediately after powering on.
• The BIOS on the Acer Altos 600 server uses the Ctrl+Alt+Esc key and the F1 key for advanced options.
• Older Acer computers may use also use the F1 or Ctrl+Alt+Esc keys to access BIOS.

Compaq - Presario, Prolinea, Deskpro, Systempro, Portable

• Press F10 while the cursor in the top right corner of the screen is blinking.

The following companies are either closed for business or no longer manufacture or support mainstream computers systems so verifying the following BIOS access information is nearly impossible. I have included what I could dig up for anyone who might be interested:
ARI / ALR / AST (Advantage) - Press the Ctrl+Alt+Esc or Ctrl+Alt+Del keys.
Cybermax - Press the Esc key.
Tandon - Press the Ctrl+Shift+Esc keys.

I tried to install service pack 3 on my SAttelite and bam, my laptop is done!!!. I get to my desktop and get a msg...... please wait while Outlook version 6 loads, then my pc reboots. This is an endless cycle and I cant do a thing with my laptop. Has anyone had similar problems and If so, how do I fix it. I would try a recovery cd, but it didnt come with one when I bought it 2yrs ago.

Sounds like the boot order menu is what you have. Set the boot order menu to try other devices before the hard drive. (Example: CD/DVD drive, floppy; if present, USB devices, hard drive). You should have a default key for accessing the boot menu (usually f11 or f12). Hit this key and choose the USB option. Make sure the device you want to boot to is already connected before you turn on the laptop.

Tricky one, ive you have a external usb cdrom drive , maybe, or if you can take hardrive out and set it up on another laptop install your xp and also place copy of all drivers required onto it, then put back into the toshiba., dont know what else could help you here. hope this helps in some way.
