Toshiba Satellite A205-S5804

Down graded OS from Vista to XP. Unable to get wireless adapter to work.
Everything else seems to be working properly thus far. It would be wonderful if you can help with problem. Adapter is Realtek RTL8187B_WLAN_ADAPTER.

    i have downgrade my toshiba from vista to XP. everything worked perfectly untill i want to connect wifi network. it crushed. RTL8187B WLan Adapter doesn't work and i cannot find proper driver for it!

    I tried modifying the inf file with what was suggested but still doesnt work. In my device manager RTL8187B_WLAN_Adapter shows that the driver is not installed. I went to realtek website and downloaded and when i try to upload the driver says cannot find any drivers. Someone please help me.. the laptop came with vista but i have loaded xp on it.

Download the 8187b drivers from Realtek's site. You then need to go in and edit the .inf file to read like this:

%RTL8187B.DeviceDesc% = RTL8187B.ndi, USB\VID_0BDA&PID_8197&REV_0200

After the edit, install as usual from the device manager.

Go to http://www.isd.toshiba.com.au. Find model Satellite A210-(PSAFGA) and realtek wireless driver. Install and you're done.

Who makes the motherboard> That is key if you want the correct driver, just go the the laptops website and download the correct XP driver. Most WLAN adapters are embedded on the MOBO so you need the integrated WLAN driver

Go to a friends house with internet access and hook it up go to microsoft's home page and let it find a driver for you that should fix your prob right up !!

I can not believe  i was tryeing all day to solve the problem and this help me...thanks a lot...i just dont understand why this is working because text is the same with the text that was in my driver but newer mind, it is working...
