Hello, I have a problem with my mp360 printer. I

Inkjet Printers dry out over time if they sit idol. Open the printer and remove the ink. Clean around the ink carriage and the under the ink with alcohol and a cotton swab. Pay special attention to areas with copper contacts. If the printer has a cleaning option either on the printer itself through the menu system or on the machine through the print driver, you can use that afterwards. Some printers will let you re-run the cleaning utility several times.

Message appear 'paper jam'

Have another look, especially the front rollers, all it takes is a small piece of paper in the right place, to get the error message. How do I know, cause it happened to me today.

Printer says cartridge is jammed press the

This is just an educated guess however "set" is the term used by Cannon to refer to the operation of installing a new ink tank, possible they are requesting you remove and reinstall the ink tank, ensure it is in the right slot and ensure you hear a click.

Waste in tank

If you drop the cover the machine will send the cartridge holder across to the far side of the printer

At that point switch the printer off and by using a torch you will see a heap of nearly solid ink which has been deposited by the cleaning blades into a trough where the ink cartridge normally sits.

Pair of surgical gloves and a small lolly stick or wooden spatula normally does the trick

How do you change the language?

I had the same problem with my Canon Smartbase MP730. Printer properties was in Portuguese, no matter how many times the driver was uninstalled and reinstalled.

By running Filemon from SysInternals I realized that when showing the printer properties files in the

C:\BJPrinter\CNMWINDOWS\Canon MP730 Printer\LanguageModules\0409\

folder were created. One of those files was CNMmhya.hlp. When clicking on it a Help-window with Portuguese text shows up - even though the code 0409 means English. This is a symptom of the problem. This file was copied from somewhere in the Windows folder.

To fix this annoying problem, the following worked for me:

-> Unplug the printer
-> Uninstall the driver
-> Rename the following folder with the portuguese language driver stuff which still remains, even after uninstallation of the driver:

C:\WINDOWS\system32\spool\drivers\w32x86\3

(if you cannot rename it, reboot and try again). You should first check that there are indeed portuguese help-files in this folder. To do that, click on one of the .hlp files. If they are not your problem could be a different one, but it could also be that the files are stored nearby in the file system.

-> Reinstall the driver with the language of your choice. This time there won't be Portuguese files blocking proper installation of your new files.
-> Replug the printer to finish the driver installation

Now you should have finally gotten rid of the Portuguese (which may seem Spanish or Italian to some) text in Printer related windows.
