The antenna seems to rotate on it's own and it is a hassle to reorient. Not sure how to make it reorient. Turn it off and then try to intialize again.
Check the Initial Position:
First, ensure that the antenna is initially aligned correctly. If it's not, the system might behave unexpectedly. You can use the "INITIAL" key on the remote control to re-synchronize the system1.
If the reset procedure doesn't yield the desired results, the antenna motor might be misaligned on the antenna mast. In that case, you have two options:
Re-Orient the Antenna Manually:
Go to the antenna and physically re-orient it to the desired position.
Program the Control Unit:
Program the control unit to correspond to the new antenna orientation. This way, the system will remember and return to the best antenna positions for maximum picture and audio quality.
Fine-Tuning the Antenna Position:
To fine-tune the antenna position manually, use the ">" or "<" keys on the remote control or the control unit's front panel. Press ">" to move the antenna clockwise and "<" to move it counter-clockwise.
Remember that maintaining a clear line of sight to the broadcast towers is crucial for optimal reception, especially when you're located 60-100 miles away. Can a dta be used with cable antenna?
Most cable systems provide digital channels in a QAM format where Broadcast is in the 8VSB format. The RCA unit makes no mention if it is able to demodulate QAMs and should not be expected to. In addition, most cable QAMs are encrypted and need an addressable converter supplied by your cable system to view. A lot of cable systems provide local broadcast stations in the "Clear QAM" format and are not encrypted and viewable with digital televisions that support the QAM format, (most do). Most over the air broadcast DTA converters do not support the QAM format and will not demodulate the cable QAMs.
