My uniden phone keeps beeping
If this is a wireless phone first I would check the battery this may be a low or battery signal. If you done this then check to see if the intercom or pager button on the main base is stuck. If none of this works then I suggest that you buy a new onen they are cheap enough that it would cost more to repair than to buy another.

That just indicates that the caller called, it went to voicemail, and the called didn't hang up very quickly. This often happens with call centre automated dialers. Your phone answered for you and the dialer hears a voice, so it hang onto the call waiting for an agent.

Why don't I get a tone to record my greeting?
The message itself does not contain a tone. The message is stored on your carrier's servers. When someone calls you and you don't answer, the message will play and when the message is over a tone should play. There was probably something corrupted in your audio message and the tone wasn't triggered.
