The Toshiba 305's were first released in 2008/2009. Depending on the age of your machine, the battery may very well just be dead. Typically there are warning signs like slower charging, and less battery life after a charge. New batteries for this laptop are available in many places and cost in the $20 to $30 dollar range.

Hopefully, you did not try to put the memory card in while the pc was on and you ground yourself to the pc first. You would be amaze how quick it is to short your motherboard with static shock. Try taking the memory card out and power on your pc. If it power on, you may need to use a different memory card or make sure it is completely seated in the slot. If the pc don't power on, you may have shorted your board and it wil need to be replaced.

Changing Backup Battery on LG Ls50
hte battery pack is located at the buttom towards the screem hinger. there are 2 latches, one for each side. slide the latch toward the edge of the laptop and slide the battery out.
install in reverse order.

Averatec 3700 notebook is charged but will not
Try to remove the battery and turn the computer on with only the AC adapter connected. If it works then the battery is failing. If it does not there is something wrong with the motherboard or the AC adapter. hopefully it is just the AC adapter. Try to borrow an AC adapter from a friend or anybody else. Make sure that the current and power rating is exactly the same. Or else you might end up with a burned laptop. It the known working AC adapter works, then it is your charger. Buy a new one.
