Problem with the ON/OFF button

Hello, I have a problem switching on my PC. It seems that the ON button doesn't work anymore when I push it, and I was wondering if there is a way to switch it on in a different way or to solve the problem using a sort of autorepair functionality.
Thank You

There is common problem with a cold solder joint on one of the components with this board. When the button is depressed, it breaks the contact, if you can reflow the solder joint it will work fine. Otherwise you can buy a new board on ebay adr replace it. To reflow the solder joint you can either heat it with a heat ggun, or a small soldering iron.

The power button is the only way to turn it on. Remove the plastic strip that contains the power button, do this by lifting up at one end, it will then pull up and off. Then you'll see the power button on the board, try pressing this button. If it starts normally, then the button on the plastic strip isn't making a good contact with the button on the board, replace the strip. If it still doesn't turn on, then power button on the board is faulty and will need to be replaced. You can find the plastic strip on Ebay for a decent price. The power switch on the board is harder to find. Most sellers on Ebay leave this attached to the motherboard when they sell a parts machine, you're best bet is a shop that deals with used or refurbished laptops.
