Speak your wakeup phrase. The Voice Command menu appears.

Setting your Wakeup Phrase
The wakeup phrase is a word or phrase you can say to activate voice command. The default wakeup phrase is "Voice Command".
1. From main menu, touch Tools > Voice Command > Customize Phrase.
2. Enter a new wakeup phrase.
3. Touch "Done"

You should be able to add a voice tag while editing the contact. You may also be able to simply activate voice dialing and press the voice dial button and say the name of the person and it will automatically dial for you. Try doing that.

To activate voice commands:
1. In your menu, go to MY STUFF MENU
2. select TOOLS
3. select Voice Command
4. Enable the on/off option



How to use it:

Call <Name or Number>: This function is activated only when if user says command “Call” and name stored in address book or specified phone number. Handset, voice engine inside recognize users utterance handset, displays name lists from your phone’s address book or phone number, however noise might caused to display candidates. Additionally user can superimpose number type at the end optionally, such as “mobile”, “home” or “office”.

Yes the Magella Maestro 4250 GPS receiver does have voice recognition built-in and it can be controlled using voice commands.

Magellan has produced a guide to using the voice control feature which is available on their website. To activate the voice control you say the word "Magellan" while viewing the menu screen or a map screen. Then you can speak one of the many commands available for the unit.
