I have an EC1201A and the iron stops heating intermittently. If I disconnect the plug from the base unit, the light comes on. With the iron connected and tapping the iron against something hard, it will sometimes start heating again. I've gone throught the manual checks with a VOM and everything seems to checkout fine. I suspect that the intermittency is heat related. Has anyone ever had this problem before? Is it more likely the thermocouple or the heating element?
