Replacing the transfer roller is pretty simple and doesn't require any tools, though gloves may be a good idea to protect the roller. You open the front door using the front latch and the transfer roller is on the door. The part number is 310-5814. Iteminc.com has these in stock and ships same day. Its a bogus message. Simply open and close the front cover of the machine. It resets it and the message disappears.

Maybe if you call you can order just the transfer roller. You could try removing it and cleaning the ends (to provide better electrical contact). You could also try wiping the roller itself with a lint free dry cloth - but do so at you own risk and never touch the roller with your fingers!
Note: If the main Menu does not appear on the front panel screen and only Replace Transfer Roller is displayed, there may be a print job that is either processing or currently printing. Try the following steps to clear the print jobs and reset the Transfer Roller life:
