My computer just went down one day and the message I get in No Operating System Found. Whan I go into my setup it says none next to HD is it possible that the cable is not hooked up all the way or is the HD bad? How can I tell and what does the data cable look like?

Remove hd check connections and connector make sure clean from dust ( dust is a conductor ) ;remove battery ,reseat hd ;startup from ext power (dont connect battery yet)
system may find hd now and boot if so replace battery.
if not hd may not be neccessarily be damaged it may have missing sys32drivers.try install new os from cd if system still say no drive(hd) then hd is beyond repair.

You can open the harddrive cover to check.

Most likely the drive is broken and needs to be replaced.
Its going to cost you, but take the laptop to a repair service / shop / center.

Thats if you dont have warranty.

You can try reconnecting the harddrive.
But If it already was well connected. Its most likely broken.
