When I start my computer I get the error; NTLDR is missing.
You can probably avoid having to reformat your computer. Do you have access to a spare computer? We'll probably need this as we do the repair. Here are the steps: http://tinyempire.com/notes/ntldrismissing.htm
I can provide assistance as we work through them.
Testimonial: "Ok I tried this but I still need the boot cd to load... I am not sure what files I need to put in windows as there are several and just the ntldr file is not working. Also do I put them under windows, system ot system32? I have a media edition Xp"
Ok, so you're able to get into windows, but only with the boot cd? You need to put "NTLDR", "boot.ini", and "NTDETECT.COM" under probably C:\ (assuming that's where windows is installed). If these files already exist under C:\ I would rename them, then copy over the new files.
I found that shortly after I sent the last message. Thank you for verifying. I was also able to get it to 1 second on the load time.

Hi,
ntldr.dll is a windows file. You OS is corrupted and you need to format you pc, if you want additional information on how to format, you can ask it for in reply.

Applies to: Microsoft Windows NT, Windows 2000, Windows XP
SymptomsWhen you start your computer, you receive the error message "NTLDR is missing. Press any key to restart."
CauseThe error message "NTLDR is missing" means that the Windows boot loader (NT Loader, NTLDR) cannot be found. This oftenoccurs when the computer tries to boot from a drive other than the one Windows is installed on, due to a change in the driveconfiguration or because you left a bootable disk in a removable drive. But it may also be because the NTLDR file has beencorrupted or deleted.
SolutionCheck the boot drivesFirst, check the boot drives to make sure that the computer is not trying to boot from a different drive to the one thatcontains Windows.
If this does not resolve the problem, you will have to repair the NT boot loader.
Fix NTLDRThe easiest way to fix the "NTLDR is missing" error is to use Spotmau PowerSuite. However, if your computer is using Windows XP and you have a Windows XP installation CD you may be able to boot from this anduse the Recovery Console to fix NTLDR manually instead.
Use Spotmau PowerSuiteInsert the Spotmau PowerSuite CD and start the computer. The main menu will appear.

The tool will repair the file and report "NTLDR and NTDETECT have been recovered successfully."
Start the Recovery Console
