Laptop: Dell Inspiron 1501
I reinstalled a fresh copy of winXP sp2 and various drivers needed installation. I used the dell website to install all the laptop specific drivers, however the Network controller is still not working (yet the ethernet controller is) The network setup wizard and all help files associated with network setup appear to not be installed. There were a few dll files that failed to install during the installation process, I reinstalled windows a second time and the same dll files failed again.
My conclusion is that the hardware is fried as I have searched everywhere for a driver solution, all of which point me to installing an Ethernet controller driver with no mention of the network controller itself.
Assistance/confirmation would be appreciated! thank you.
Uninstall The Drivers And then clear temp and prefetch files...

Hi,
Please install microsoft UAA driver first.
the download the driver from http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/download.aspx?c=us&l=en&s=gen&releaseid=R149798&SystemID=INS_PNT_1501&servicetag=&os=WW1&osl=en&deviceid=2966&devlib=0&typecnt=0&vercnt=2&catid=-1&impid=-1&formatcnt=1&libid=5&fileid=19898
and install it it will work.
Make sure that the chipset driver should be loaded there before running the setup of ethernet.
