I put the code in wrong 4 times (Idiot)
now it won't take the code at all, just gets 4 waiting once i try to enter it.

You must leave your radio in power on for an hour just to clear the wait, after that only you are able to reenter your code. make sure do not power off the radio, or else every time you power on you still have to wait for an hour to clear it.
Typically if you enter the wrong code several times the unit will lock up. To unlock it you need to leave the radio on for at least 30 to 60 minutes and that should allow you to re enter the code.
