Hi, I have a Sharp ELW535 Calculator and by accident I changed the mode that it is in... so now it gives me a fraction answer and not decimal. Ex, I put in 52/48 it gives me 1 1/12 Do you know how to fix it so it gives me decimal answers?

There is nothing to fix as what you describe is not a flaw, it is a feature. You calculator has a key marked CHANGE between (x,y) key and ) key. To change a result from fraction to decimal or from decimal to fraction, you press the CHANGE key.

what you do is click on the 'mode' button and go down to the 'Exact/Approximate' parameter and choose Approximate. hit enter and you're good.

In the CATALOG there is a >Frac command that can be used with parentheses to multiply fractions.

Are you using a ti-89? If so, check your mode settings and change Exact to Approximate.

Since you bent on deactivating the very features that make your calculator so versatile and so powerful, here it is.
Press [SHIFT][MODE][2:LineIO] and you will see no more fractions, nor radicals etc. You asked for it.

SOURCE: How can I convert decimal

After you perform the calculations and press the = key, you can hit the ab/c key to toggle between decimal and fraction. Try .75= then you can toggle between 1/4 and .75
