Replace new battery in the remote, ubt when you go to start the vechicle nothing happens as well ,the blue light does not come. The last time i used the remote, everything woorked fine ?

Hi, if you have a blue light in the remote, this would indicate an aftermarket car starter system. even if there were an issue with the vehicle end of the system, the light on the remote should flash. Make sure the battery is installed properly. If so, there may be an issue with the remote, you may have to go to the shop that installed the car starter, to have a new romote installed, and programmed. Good luck...coop442000

1996 Grand Cherokee keyless entry problem

That remote should not be able to  be programmed by you, it needs to be programmed by the dealer using their computer.  I know that some later and earlier models can be programmed by the user, but I did some research on this as i have a 96 as well and it seems the 96 was a dealer computer thing.  If you in fact bought the remote from the dealer they should be willing to program it for FREE.  Otherwise I was given a $30 estimate for the programming.

1997 Chevrolet Z71 Pickup (intermittent start)

If your truck was in my shop (The Car Doctor), the first thing I would do after hearing your story would be to connect a romote started to the starter itsself. This tool is also called a starter button. You can buy one at most auto parts store. It has two long, heavy wires and has a button at one end and 2 clamps at the other.

crawl under and get next to the started and with the romote starter, connect one clamp to the largest termal there. that will be the one with the battery cable. Connect the other connector to the small termal post, the one maked I for ignition. Hand the romote starter up to your helper and then crawl out from under the truck. With the ignition switch off, you will be able to activate the starter. If you can you have just by passsed the battery and starter, meaning your problem in in or near the ignition switch.
