my lasko fan stopped working after a power outage. the motor hums but blades dont spin check the capacitor usually found beside the motor winding or inside the switch box of the stand fan

motor my fan just stopp spinning check cord for defect use a multi meter and check cableprongs for continuity

The power is on but the blades aren't moving on my pedestal fan if it was old fan probably it needs cleaning the Axe and lubricating it the dust is catches the lubricating grease until it cant run
