UNIT? When do you see the black line? Is it only when you use the ADF or with the copyboard glass as well? If it is only with the adf the small piece of glass that the orginal is scaned over is dirty,

glass and adf? If it is just the adf, you need to clean the adf slip glass. The small piece of glass next to the copy board glass. If that is not the fix, it could be the Drum Unit or the Fixing unit.

...the ADF paper feed tires, This helps the paper to feed into the scanner unit so the fax can be sent. I have also seen part of the ADF feed unit broken. Does the paper feed in but not transmitt

then closed, for good reset. if you are having jams in the adf, then open all adf covers, and lift the adf upward, if it allows. also, try turning unit off, then back on. some jams only clear that way

When copying we are getting 2 lines down one side

ADF copy and the main glass copy have the lines then most likely the lines are coming from the drum unit. If you have the copier hooked up for use as a PC printer then does the print from the computer

Used ADF on Sharp AL1631 digital copier and got a

ADF on Sharp AL1631 digital copier and got a E7-02 error code. Unit has run maybe 500 copies in it's lifetime (4 years). I tried simulations...01-01...and 64-01 the scanner moves all the way and back.
