Hello to everyone, I have been reading forums for the last 24hrs from all over the internet regarding my problem and still no solution. Please Help. I have an Ascer Aspire 4730z with Vista (SPK 2). On yesterday I turned on my laptop but it would boot. I kept getting an "DISK READ ERROR, just get the same screen. So we or. NOW I get as far as the "Microsoft Corporation screen" (with the green moving bar# d booting in ALL of the Advance Mode still the same out come. This is a typical sign of a defective hard drive.Your hard drive might or might not be repairable, depending on the degree of damage.
I would recommend that you use a live CD (such as this one: http://www.ultimatebootcd.com/download.html) to boot up your computer & run a hard disk diagnostic tool like HDD Regenerator. It might take several hours (sometimes days) to fix the damage. If this did not help, then you will have to replace the hard drive.
