Press f10 and altgr at boot screen , repaet as many times as nessary to get it started, this is not an easy task on gateway lt2030u, if your having win 7 problems ,you might want to try pressing f8 at boot up and select the repair optoin it is the first choice in the list.
good luck , tinyman

Go into your bios or cmos as I call it , by pressing f2 or escape to get in , than find the reset to bring your computer back to the original settings Roy

If you have a hidden partition on your harddrive you may have to access it during a reboot through one of your F keys, it varies on different brands. Or you may have to wipe your hard drive clean and reload windows and all of your device drivers from the Compaq website.

You can reset your computer back to factory defaults without your disks with the hidden recovery partition built onto you computer.
For XP, Right after you turn on your computer, hold the <CTRL> keyboard button down and keep tapping on the F11 key until the Dell Restore by Symantec Window comes up. Then click Restore then click Confirm.
*If yout computer came with Vista, the steps are a bit different, and they are on the website on the link I provided at the bottom (as well as for XP*
Here's the Dell Webiste with the Step by step instructions to perform the factory reset. Just pick which Operating System your computer came with and follow the steps:
