Thread getting stuck

We had he same problem with no solutions posted. Solution: First, make sure the bobbin case is clean. Ours was slightly rusted. The rust acted like a fine sand paper keeping the thread from encircling the bobbin. We used an metal cleaning powder to remove it. we also noticed that the entire bobbin area of the machine was dirty and had oxidation on the metal. We cleaned that as well.

Second, we checked the hook's action. (We took off the ring around the bobbin and removed the bobbin case as well. we left the hook in the machine and then turned the machine. We watched for how well the hook grabbed the thread from the needle.) We noticed that the hook was slightly slow and was not grabbing the thread. The hole in the needle was slightly above the hook as the needle retreated and hook spun around.

To repair this, we took off the front plastic cover (the side facing the operator). There are screws on both sides of the machine for this. After the cover is removed, you will notice a flat bar going from top to bottom about 1/3 from the right of the machine. This bar has four screws. This bar is the timing adjustment for the bobbin hook. Loosen all four screws. If you turn the bobbin by hand, you will see the bar flex back and forth. Turn the bobbin all the way to the right and tighten the screws. The hook should now catch the thread properly.
