Toshiba TheaterWide 52HM84 52" Rear Projection HDTV-Ready Television Logo
Posted on Aug 25, 2008

HDTV Problem I've got a Toshiba 52HM84, and I've been having a problem with being able to keep it working for over about 5 minutes. I initially thought it was the bulb, since we were due to replace it, so I replaced the bulb to no avail. The 2 indicator LED's light up; the green stays lit, but the red flashed in half-second intervals. I'm thinking it's the light engine...? Any help would be appreciated. Thank you! ~Jay Buckley

According to the manual for this set, the LED's are indicating that the lamp unit door is not seated properly. If you don't have the manual for this set you can find it on Toshiba's website at http://tacpservice.toshiba.com/ConsumerProductSupport/Manuals/TV/2004/46_52_62HM84.pdf

The page number for the LED indicators is 60. Page numbers 57-59 show how to replace the lamp unit and make sure the door is secure. Good luck.
