listed below are the SpeedyGreen 2000 suggested spreader settings for lime:
(Please note that these are not exact measurements but they are close enough for lime applications)
30# per 1000 sq. ft. - Setting of 10
40# per 1000 sq. ft. - Setting of 7.5, go over the area twice
50# per 1000 sq. ft. - Setting of 7, go over the area three times

If the product you are planning on applying has a spreader setting for a Scotts SpeedyGreen, or specifically for the SpeedyGreen 3000; you can that recommendation in your Edgeguard Deluxe Spreader. If they do not have a suggested spreader setting for the SpeedyGreen, or SpeedyGreen 3000 settings then this question would best be answered by calling Scotts directly @ 1-800-543-8873. One of our associates would be happy to assist you further. We do have a general rule, called the 50 by 20 rule which will allow you to use any product in any spreader, but there is some work that will need to be done. * Weigh out and Place enough material in the hopper to cover 1,000 sq. ft. (In your case 2.3 pounds) * Place the spreader setting on a low setting (Usually one-fourth of the spreader setting range or less. In your case i would suggest about 2.75 or 3) * Spread the material over a 50 x 20 ft. area (This is 1,000 sq. ft.). * If material is left over, you will need to increase the setting accordingly * If they you up short, you will need to decrease the setting.

Start with #3 setting. You will be fine I have same spreader.Good Luck..

I have a Scotts calibration bar which I used according to their instructions and the unit (a 35-3) still does not perform correctly. Therefor I used a tried-and-true method to make my own calibration.
1) get a large tarpaulin, the bigger the better. Lay it on a flat surface, as level as possible. Measure the tarp to determine the area.
2) Pick a setting. I would suggest starting with "5". Load up your spreader and go back and forth over the tarp as though it were your grass.
3) Dump what you have collected on the tarp into a container and weigh it.
4) Perform high school arithmetic operations to determine the pounds per square foot delivered and adjust accordingly. Obviously, different products will perform differently and this will have to be done for each different product.
5) Down at these low numbers it doesn't take much change in setting to make a big change in the delivery rate. The Scotts representative also noted that the speed at which you walk can affect the rate. As you walk more slowly the spreader will deliver more product.
