Assuming that the unit is plugged in to an outlet that has power, press the ON button and a green light should come ON. That will indicate the unit is getting power and is ready to function. If however, you have the humidity level set to high and it's equal to or higher than the humidity level in your home, the unit's compressor and fan will not turn ON and run. Keep in mind, the humidity level, whether it's and LCD readout screen or just a minimum and high setting, that's not the amount of humidity that the unit will remove. It's what it will maintain. So, setting it as low as possible, should cause the unit to start functioning.

If it doesn't start, check the water collection bucket, to be sure that it's installed properly and is making contact with the safety trigger switch. If it's not making contact, the unit will not turn ON.

i don't know. if moisture high, until resolved or repaired, consider using an electrical timer to shut it off and on for

Dont know how to hook up the drain pipe
The drain pipe in what? If we are talking about a sink, they sell multi size kits at lowes, home depot and any other hardware store. You need to know the size of the outlet from the sink and the size of the drain pipe you are connecting to.

I know this isn't the answer that you are looking for, but auto parts stores usually sell a patch kit that's intendend for Washer Fluid Reservoirs.

If it were me, I'd patch it.

No manuel, do not know how to work
Hi Journeay,
The dehumidifier is telling you the humidity in your house is 45-50 % so it will not run until the dehum thinks it is over 60%. When you set a humidity it will show the setting then it will tell you the humidity in the house. Sometimes they are wrong, and somtimes the humidistat goes bad. I would suggest setting the dehumidifier lower than the 45-50 and see if it comes on. This time of year the humidity is usually low depending on your location. I have already put mine away for the winter. Please let me know if you have any other questions and I really hope this will fixYa. If not just let me know.
