While installing xp PROF. I get the BSOD while the installation is installing devices..STOP: 0x0000000aEvery time the same thing..
I had the same problem. After some experimentation, I traced it the Core 2 Duo processor that I was using. I fixed the problem by switching the CPU to single processor mode in the BIOS setting. Windows installed fine. After all the drivers and the windows updates were installed, I switched the single processor mode off.
Things are working happily ever after :-)

You need at least Service Pack 2 to install Windows XP on systems with newer processors.
I had this problem because my Windows XP is SP1. I had to create a new CD with SP3.

This is most probably a faulty memory stick, if you are using more than one stick, try doing the install using only one stick and alternate them to see if only one is bad.
If you only have one stick of memory download the UBCD (Ultimate Boot CD) there are diagnostic tools on this CD that can test your memory, motherboard and load test your proccessor.

try touch the heat sink whether the processor is hot. Maybe u are using Pentium D or unsupported processor. Or u can used a supported processor borrowed from a friend and setup the windows & then update the BIOS to the latest & try install back your own processor.
