Hi Wayne,
I see that you are having difficulties with your wireless connection, have you tried checking if the wireless on your laptop is turned on? there should be a switch on the side of your Laptop some other Laptops may have that switch on the front.

  • Check the computer Icon in the lower right side of your taskbar it should be beside near the time, check if there are any red X or yellow Exclamation points on the computer Icon or if you have the wireless bars.
  • If you see a wireless signal but says limited or no connectivity when you point the mouse cursor on it then we just may need to check some settings on you system.
  • Also we can check you IP address on the Laptop by clicking on Start, All Program/Programs then Accessories under Accessories look for Command Prompt, once the Command Prompt window appears you will see a black box and a blinking cursor type in IPCONFIG then press enter this will show us you Laptops IP address or IPV 4, the IP should begin with 192.168.x.x but if it shows 169.254.x.x then this is a bad IP address, try recreating the wireless network in your laptop to renew the IP address.
  • First check the Router for any indication if the wireless light is turn on or not if not check the router settings and turn on or enable the wireless signal of your Router.
  • If the wireless light is turned ON then check the Router settings for any security options and if your Router has a security key enabled on it then you should copy and set that security in your Laptops wireless network settings in Network and Sharing Center.
  • if still the wireless connection doesn't connect we can try to uninstall and reinstall the Wireless driver for your Laptop which would require you to check first if you have a copy of the wireless driver inside your hard rive if you don't have the Installer for the driver then you may need to use a different computer to be able to download the wireless driver from your computer manufacturers website.

I hope that this will be helpful in resolving you Laptops wireless connection.
Have a nice day.
