Simple.
Press the Help button on the remote control for a minimum of 10 seconds while in standby mode. When the lamp time clock is reset to zero, the STATUS indicator goes out.

hi. I bought new remote - a replacement copy made specifically for this device (VT 540) from ebay and it works very good. Just hold yellow button for 10 secondshi.
