I have been using the password feature, and there is one issue I have with it. On my NUVII, I only get ONE chance to put in the password. If I mess up that one time, there is no second try. Most systems give you 3 trys and then revert to the second level security (the location in the case of the nuvii). As a result of this one try approach, I have had to ceased using the security because its too risky and I cannot afford to be on the road with my nuvii not functioning. Is there any way to change the one time entry to 3 opportunioties? Thanks John Baker

It is a Nuvii 200 -- the low priced spread! I guess that means I am stuck with the "one strike and your out" security!

    Thanks for your comments

If you are talking about the Garmin Nuvi 660 (and most others), there is no limit on the wrong # of incorrectly entered passwords. If you type in a wrong password and it says "Invalid Password", all you have to do is wait 15 seconds and the screen will clear allowing you to try again.

I will also add, this is part of the fimware and con not be altered by the user.

Ok, the reason why I said 660 is because your question was posted in the Nuvi 660 area. All of the Nuvi's will allow you to retype the password after a 15 second reset, if a wrong number has been entered. Sorry, we are all at the mercy of the one who wrote the firmware. It can't be changed by the user. - Jim
