I helped a buddy update his Uniden GPS (Trax350). Simply follow these steps and you should be done.

Uniden's MapTrax350 GPS device accepts voice-command programming and provides detailed audio commands, as well, speaking aloud the map directions that are displayed on its screen. Keeping your Trax350's firmware updated is crucial to keeping it working correctly. Usually, you can go to a company's website and download the latest software, but with Uniden, you must register your product first to access the proper free upgrades. It takes minutes.

Instructions

things you'll need: USB cable

1 Navigate to the link in the Resources section and fill in the required fields. Click on "Register."
2 Turn on your device and connect it to the computer using its USB cable.
3 Log in to the site with the password that was sent to your email address after you registered the device.
4 Choose "Software Upgrades." Select the MapTrax350 device, and the latest firmware upgrade will appear. Click "Download."
5 Select "Save File" and choose a location on your computer to save it to. After it has downloaded, double-click the program icon, select "Run" and follow the prompts to update your Trax350.

Where can I find free Garmin Nuvi Map Updates?
Sorry, no free maps. I know I've tried. You either live with the old map or but the latest version.
I bought the life time maps updates and I'm glad I did.
I've updated my maps at least 6 times.
New maps are about $70.
Life time maps are about $99 (when I bought mine)
BUT FIRST make SURE you have the latest software in YOUR computer and in YOUR Garmin before you load any maps.
You can get that FREE at Garmin here:

Hope this helps looks like you haveto pay for map updates after 30 days, but I am not positive.
