Hello!
You will need to remove the two bolts and nuts/washers that hold the wheel axel in place. After that you can pull the wheel off the frame with a little force. See the image below where two bolts that hold axel on both side are.
The bolts are square near the
end and will go into a square hole or cut out in the bikeframe. Putting
these bolts on is a bit difficult at first, but once you have done it,
its basically easy.
For the rear wheels, the right side axel is shaped like a "D" (not
round) and will only take the corresponding wheel with the "D" axel
area. The other rear wheel has only the special bearings for its axel
and no "D" area.
I checked on Amazon, but they are out of stock. Try eBay or your local Schwinn dealer.

I just received this answer of how to REMOVE the back wheels of a Schwinn Meridian trike bike, the answer is : Amazon is sold out try E-Bay ? Now thats an answer for an Idiot ? I can find the parts its HOW do you Remove the Back wheels ? I removed the outer Nut and the wheels wont budge. I dont want to beat them up and damage the axle.. whats the secret ? There is no secondary nut still holding it ? Thanks for what ever help you can send me..
Thank you for an intelligent answer and my problem was solved. I didnt have to remove the axle but knowing one wheel wasround and the other was half moon I was able to remove it without damage . Now I can order another wheel and be riding. I wasnt being a smart A__+ for the first guy but his answer of BUY It on E-Bay wasnt expert knowledge. The pictures helped quite a bit.. My Hats off to you !

Is it a single axle for both wheels? I have a Schwinn 3 speed but it seems to have the drive axle and an independent assembly (left) or is the shaft broken?
