I am getting the code 32 on my carrier weathermaker 800 furnace. How do I solve the problem

I think the running on power up is just a test mode for a service person.

This sounds like a thermal disc or the heat anticipator on the thermostat is not set right. What was the $500 spent on?

2 check sensar of thermostate.
3if not change thermostate

Your hot surface igniter may be bad. It may be cracked which would prevent it from starting the burner flame.

Remove all power from the furnace, it is likely the brain in the furnace is need of being reset, from the battery replacement, why did you change the battery, was there an indicator telling you to change it?

Many times just removing all the power to the furnace will do the trick with a reset, if not let me know and we will go from there, but it sounds like the main brain is confused or bad, more likely confused, so try the power removed first.
