I have a laptop that runs on Windows XP. and a Canon MP 560 printer. For some reason all of a sudden the laptop and the printer do not talk to each other. The printer's wireless light is on. I have unplugged both to no avail. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the printer. It is listed in my list of printers. The printer will scan and copy. What do I do next?

This was the last suggestion that didn't work:

Try to restart the print spooler service of windows XP. Click start menu then click run. Type in services.msc the press enter. Search and double click print spooler service then press stop tab. Wait for 5 secs then press start tab. Close everything down then restart the computer.
    Something else to try?

Hi

This is other way of restarting the print spooler and clearing some pending print file. Please try this.

Go to START MENU
Choose Commamd prompt, right click mouse and run as administrator ( For Window vista and windows 7)
Type the letter "cmd"
Type the word "net stop spooler"
Exit
Go to C: drive
Choose to Windows Folder
Click show content
Choose system32 folder
Choose spool folder
Choose printer
And delete all printing jobs pending
Again go back to CMD window and type the word "net start spooler"
Restart your computer and must also turn off your printer and then switch it on.
It will work fine right now
Also, you mention that you uninstall and reinstall the printer driver. But did you set up again new printer with the same name. If not, do it and if it prints the test page. Then it solves your problem.

Please let me know it you need more help. Regards
