3g service is activated when you enter a 3g network. 3g networks are in select cities, refer to your wireless carrier's website to see where the closest 3g area is to you.

To many pattern attempt

With the Samsung Galaxy TAB turned off, press and hold the VOLUME Down button, and then briefly press the POWER button.

Note: If you see "Downloading" on the screen with an Android shoveling you pressed the wrong Volume key. Remove and reinsert the battery and try again.

It should hard reset any of these tablets:

How to turn on 3G network on Samsung galaxy s2?

Settings > More Setting > Network Settings > Mobile Networks > Network Mode > WCDMA Only or WCDMA/GSM (auto connect)

WCDMA Only is is you only want to use 3G.
If you want that your phone should switch between 2G and 3G mode automatically, use auto connect option.

For this, your SIM Must support 3G services.

First, you turn on the 3g hotspot function on the galaxy tab:

I can't get 3G on my Galaxy S...does anyone know why? I have tried turning wifi off but the icon still says 'H'. Also....why does it have an option to video call but it never actually lets me do it? ...

first of all you have to activate 3g on your phone by sending sms to your operator.
