SC544 indicates low fuser temperature during the warm up process. This means you have a problem with the fusing unit heating up. The fusing unit is located right where the paper exits the machine. Most common failure on these Ricoh's (Your Gestetner 3225 is made by Ricoh model aficio 250) is the fuser thermistor. This is a small electronic part that measures the temperature of the fusing roller. When they go bad they do not "see" the heat and therefor the code pops up. You are going to need to have a tech look at this for you as you will need to determine for sure which part is bad then you have to go into the service mode to reset this SC code before the machine will run.
Good Luck and Thank You for using Fixya.
Redha,
Fuses are located on the power supply and some control boards.
In general fuses are used for circut protection when the load exceeds what the circut is capable of handling the fuse will blow to hopefully protect the circut and the board. This is a very broad definition.
Hope this helps
Odds are you are not getting a water mark on your paper unless you are in a very wet area. You are getting fusing oil on your copies. I would look for any spilt oil aroun or under the fixing unit.
What code???
That is very important to know for solve it
