My computer will not power on, only a flashing

My computer will not power on, only a flashing green light on the back is on. I just bought a new computer and would like to  transfer my files to my new computer. Why my old computer will not power on? Old computer: Pavilion a450n Window XP New computer: Pavilion Elite HPE-337c Window 7

Hi and welcome cj4man1 !
Extract the Hdd out of your old computer . Place it in a external usb box and connect the box to your new pc . You will be able to access and transfer your data .
The issue about your old computer is another matter an could have several reasons , such as power supply , damaged Hdd , defective memory , damaged motherboard ...etc ...
