I read some of the literature, and found that yours is a 27 cu ft, made in 2001, so it's not all that old. Repairs, if you have a service person do it will be in the $200 dollar range, more or less, plus parts.
If you are handy, or even just plain curious, you can make the repair yourself for less than $50 for the part. You can get your part at any local appliance parts supply store.
