SOURCE: Tom Tom one just comes on and then says that there is no GPS devi

It "might" be that your tomtom has lost its position due to you moving countries. the TomTom stores its last position so each time you switch it off then on again it can find the satellites it had before quickly. Because you have moved a long way ( on the aeroplane ) the TomTom now thinks you are still in America so it's looking for the satelittes over America rather than over the UK.
I would try this :

  • Press the reset switch through the hole at base of tomtom ( 1 quick press is all you need , dont press too hard , you should feel the switch click as its a tactile switch )
  • The TomTom has now had a hard reset
  • Go outside in a location where you have a clear view to the south . ( preferably a clear view from east through south and to the west )
  • Switch the tomtom ON
  • Make sure the tomtom has a clear view of the sky and the top of the tomtom ( its antenna is in the top ) is unobstructed.
  • Tap the screen just above right bottom ( where you see the signal bars )
  • The next screen shows the battery state and some bars on right side
  • Tap the bars
  • You should now have a bigger screen with bigger bars
  • The bars are each channel your tomtom can receive satelittes on
  • Wait about 3 to 4 minutes and see if any of the bars are GREY
  • Grey bars shows you are receiving satelittes ( but signal is week )
  • Blue bars show good strong signals are being received
  • It may take a few minutes to lock on ( fingers crossed )
  • If it does have a lock ( at least 3 blue bars ) your tomtom will remember and store these satelittes so next time you switch on it will go straight to them quickly and lock on .
  • Your problem will be sorted.
if you dont get any bars at all then it's likely your tomtom has become faulty in the receiver or antenna section and will need proffesional repair . Rare but It is also possibly a files / data fault on your SD card . In this case if you made a backup of the card , you will need to revert to that and reinstall the files to the SD card.

GOOD LUCK

SOURCE: Not enough space for maps?

The garmin does not have any space on it for maps, any additional maps are stored on a memory
card. I don't see where garmin says the size limit of the card but in most cases unless it says
SDHC memory card, then the max is a 2g sd card, I think the models 500 and over can use over a 2g card.,

SOURCE: Call 1-8O5-225-669O GPS/GARMIN Update-Install-Download-Fix We are 24 Hour Available Call Now For Help

I just got off the phone with tech support. They have a very complicated fix that involves remote accessing into your computer and editing files, etc. They said it would take over an hour and a half, I declined. The problem apparently is that the nuvi 200/205 can't support canada, but the maps contain canada = problem. and btw, i downloaded "City Navigator Lower 49 States+PR NT 2010.10, Deluxe, Apr 09" and got the same problem. this filename ends in a "B", apparently that's the "fixed one" but acc tech support it's only fixed in the sense that they can waste over an hr w' u fixing it, whereas the older files are unfixable.
I'm just gonna wait til they really fix it and upload those files.
Hope that helps.

SOURCE: unable to find/use Canada Map on TomTom ONE 125

Nowadays TomTom provides all of its maps through TomTom Home desktop software.

You have to download and install that, and then connect you TomTom to your computer. Then you can browse through and purchase any of the available maps through the software providing you have room on your TomTom to hold the map.
