My daughter has a hughes modem connected to the reachnet network in in the northern territory Australia. It keeps asking for a password as she is not able to get onto the internet I am trying to help her

She needs to call reachnet and obtain her password for her account. if they can't give her that which is possible... she may have to create a new password to use.

If you are trying to connect the computer using a wireless connection then -
Then the password proably the wireless router's encryption key (WEP or WPA or WPA2 code). This is part of the wireless configuration.
