if it will help anyone... when trying to get a code accepted, remember to wipe the TV reception eye for the remote clean first... I did that and within a few minutes of trying the codes and by the fourth one, a new code was in and the remote was working just fine.

Hello

Three digit remote code for sylvania are:-
004/ 008/ 009/ 062/ 068/ 069/ 074/ 075/ 076/ 077/ 133/ 161/ 163
Four digit remote code for sylvania are:-
0062 0004 0009 0135 0189 0183 0227 0456 0008 0068 0075 0141 0161

Direct Code Entry

Press and hold the SETUP button until the red indicator stays on, then release the SETUP button.
Press and release the desired Mode button (TV, VCR, etc.). The red indicator blinks, then stays lit.
Enter the 4 digit code from the code tables. Note: after a valid code entry, the red indicator turns off. For an invalid code, the red indicator flashes.
With your device on, press CHANNEL UP. If the device responds, no further programming is required. Note: If some buttons do not operate your device, try one of the other codes for your brand

NB: Switch OFF and Switch ON the TV by its front panel POWER SWITCH [not by remote control handset] each time before trying an other code.
