I have a model F4975 monocular. How do I get to the batteries?

To change the battery on your Night Owl Explorer NOCX3 monocular, you will need to follow these steps:

1. Unscrew the battery compartment cover located at the bottom of the monocular 1.
2. Remove the old battery from the compartment 1.
3. Insert a new 3-volt lithium battery (123 type), which is also known as the CR 123A, EL 123AP or DL 123A 1.
4. Screw the battery compartment cover back into place 1.

Please note that some models of Night Owl Explorer use 2 standard AA batteries instead of a 3-volt lithium battery 1.

Hello, does this Famous Trail end FT-350 Monocular have just one battery to operate the monocular and IR? Is this batteries holder a plastic plate or a screw in button? If it is a button, then take a piece of round brass stock that is basically the same size the hole that contains the batteries. First have the same size threads and the same size of the bore cut in to the round brass
stock and have it cut to size. It needs to be cut in the correct length, if not it will push the batteries through the battery container. stewbison

OK, first it doesn't need a charger. Most charger are external types. Battery, it probably uses one (1) CR123A which is a three (3) volt battery, or two (2) "AA" batteries which are rated at 1 1/2 volts each. Batteries you can get them every where, Radio Shack, WalMart, Kmart, Sam's, Walgreen's, One Stop Batteries, etc. The average life for the CR123A is about twenty hours of use, and it probably the same for the double "AA's.

Hello, most of these NV monoculars uses CR123A. It a 3 volt battery about 1/2 size of AA and its girth is a little larger. Aslo, some use two AA batteries. Little information here. Some of these night visison monoculars and binoculars that sealed for water infiltration are epoxy together. stewbison

this is a common error for this model. it has a display problem.so check the display power supply.

Hello David. David you night vision doesn't use any batteries that one installs. You have Kalinka Zenit NV monocular that is Russian manufactured but is sold by Night Vision Optics. Your night vision uses a piezo electric ignitor to charges the batteries and charge a couple capacitors.

The lever on top to the Zenit monocular is activated by squeezing the handle that is covered in a rubber type material. Just keep squeezing on the lever and in while things will start working. Best of Luck David. GB...stewbison

I would take your monocular to Radio Shack which has an extensive line of battery replacements and a knowledgeable staff that will most likely be able to replace it for you!

I have seen a few of this model and the tubes were gone in each case. Best way is to check if HV present at tube - get someone who knows what they are doing to take a look. If it is the tube, it will be expensive to repair. Unscrewing the lens may reveal that the inner surface of the tube has dark marks, also indicating possible tube damage.
