I get a Camera Error message for no apparent reason. It appears on either lens at random times. I bought the camera new in September, and it worked fine until about a month ago. Sometimes I turn the camera off for awhile and then when i restart i get a couple of exposures then it reverts to the camera error thing.

There are numerous things that can cause a lens error, and none of them good. The camera is almost new and shouldn't be experiencing any of these messages. You should contact Sony support and see what can be done. Here is their support site:

There are tiny gears inside the lens assembly, and a focusing ring, and any speck of dirt or dust or lint can jam one up, causing a lens error. You can try to spray some compressed air ($4 at Walmart) inside the lens assembly, while it's extended, and hopefully free it up.
