    sir

    sorry to say this..

the company themselves accept these mistakes n they give u a replacement for that. i have read many articles stating this problem has becum common. only way is to give them to workshop. for eg see this

"I encountered the same problem 4 months after purchase. Returned to local Olympus dealer in Australia end of February 07 and am still waiting for it to be repaired. last update was ; mainboard received but waiting on lens unit. that was 2 weeks ago and its still not ready. did you have any luck and if so did it get repaired under warranty?
    thanks"

    thank u

    hi

can i have ur company name?? n

    thank u

  • Anonymous Jul 08, 2008

    hello ,,

i think this is the only remedy for that:

The solution I found it in a forum in English and an extra seems but functions: you light it with the objective up, and when this be outside launch it up (with smoothness) and recĂłgel with the hands.

in another forum i saw :

just keep the lens facing upwards n try .it is silly but works

try these two things n revert back

Hello accabella,

i found on a forum  (in spanish http://www.ojodigital.com/foro/camaras/127486-d-5e02.html)

and they say they had the same problem.

What they did was to turn it on with the lense up, and right when it was turning on, some people say they gently throw it up, others say they gently shaked it.

and after that their camera worked.

It might sound silly, but give it a try, and let me know if it didnt worked

anyway, if you cant fix it, and you want to take it to a repair shop, they will solve the circuit problem and  it will cost arround 100 dollars

First try holding it with the lens facing upward when you turn it on see if you still get the error. According to Olympus you will have to send it to be serviced. If you need their contact info or any further assistance let me know.
Thanks,
Lee

Have you tried holding the lens upward yet?
    Thanks,

You will unfortunately then have to contact the manufacturer either online or by phone and find the nearest service center. If none of the tips worked as that is the only way to possibly get it to work before considering service.
    Thanks,
    Lee

Like I previously mentioned you will want to contact the manufacturer
    http://www.olympusamerica.com/cpg_sectio...
There you can start the process of getting your camera serviced.
I hope you find this helpful and will accept and rate the solution accordingly.
    Thanks,
    Lee

What is the error message again?

  • Anonymous Jul 08, 2008

Try to hold the digital camera with the lens upward then switch it on, and then the problem doesn''t occur and then take pictures. If still not working better have it replace..

    Hope that helps.......
