I downloaded a known program. After double clicking on the program it briefly opens on the screen then disappears. It used to work well but now can't be found. I have tried deleting the program and then re-installing several times but always with the same result. HELP!
Delete (or rename) the preferences file for this application, and then try launching it.
What is the program? That should have been specified in the original problem request.

What operating system are you using and what application are you trying to run?
In Mac OS X, many applications log problems to the system log. Open the "Terminal" application and enter the following line:
tail -f /var/log/system.log
Note where the last line of text is and then launch the problem application. If new text appears in the log as you launch the application, it's likely related to the problem. Post the text here.
What program is it? It is a dmg file? Let me know
