I do not have the original remote controller for my Zenith VCR model number VRM 2120. At the end of programing a recording using a different Zenith remote controller (patents # 4,377,006 and 4,425,647) the program says to "press Timer Button". The new Zenith remote controller I am has no Timer Button. Unlike other brands of VCR's, turning off my Zenith VCR does not prepare it to record at the programed time. Is there some other button on my present remote controller that will cause my Zenith VCR to record at the programmed time? Or is there some other way to make my VCR record a timer program? Make sure the clock is set. Since the clock must be set before the timer will work, be sure you have entered an accurate date, day of the week, and time (including AM or PM). And always check the clock after a power outage. Also, check that your videotape does not have the tab removed which protects against further recording.

push the tv button then hold down the code search button till the light becomes solid. point the remote at your tv while it is turned on and push the channel up or down til the cannel changes. once it does push the mute key to save. so u know this works like that on all device and if you pass up the right on from pushing the button too fast you can just push the opposit direction rather than waiting for full circle. also be aware that there are multiple codes for some devices and some work better than others.
