Why do i keep getting a puddle of water in the bottom of my frige? The water must be coming from the top because each day, there is water on top of the food containers all the way down to the bottom.

Sounds like you have a defrost drain issue. Often times these get clogged, and the back flow water drips into the fridge, usually the culprit on a GE is a clogged drain diverter, located on the outside back of the unit. Remove the tube by bending and pulling away from the diverter while holding the diverter firmly in place. Then turn the diverter one quater turn clockwise and it should pull down and away from the appliance. Clean this diverter out thoroughly, as it is likely full of gunk. However, on some older model GE top mounts, ive seen the drain pan underneath the evaporator coil inside the freezer with a small rust hole, and the water drips through this hole instead of the intended drain hole, the water then misses the tubing, and drips into the fridge. this drain pan will then have to be replaced.
