ERROR CODE E20

Just fixed mine, only I did not have to take it all a part. Just tip it over and reached in thru the opening in the bottom. Took the clamp loose with a phillips screwdriver and pulled the rubber off that contains the filter. Stuck my hand in the opening and pushed up on the filter from the bottom on the rubber container. Out came the filter and I cleaned it and pushed back down inside until it was past the lip that held it in place. Works great, took about 10 mins., not bad for a woman, huh. Thanks for the info, could not have done without your diagram and information.

Unfortunately, getting to and cleaning the filter is no easy task.
I will guide you as best I can...

1. First, make sure you have super glue on hand, the door seal is glued to the front panel, will have to be removed first then glued back in place. Using a sharp knife, carefully begin peeling the door seal and cutting the glue close to the cabinet. Do this slowly as to not damage the door seal.
2. Remove top cover. Screws are in the back
3. Remove control console.
4. Remove screws securing the door lock. Remove all front panel screws. Remove front panel.
5. Attached to the tub there is a large, fat drain hose, inside the hose you will find a filter....

Excellent suggestions all around, many thanks to the previous posts. The diagram is accurate and the related descriptions regarding the hole on the bottom are true. The only tools I used were a channel lock to unhook the supply hoses and drain line and a snub phillips screw driver to loosen the clamp on the large diameter drain hose that houses the coin trap. The repair itself really does not take much more than ten minutes. The real time is spent unhooking and rehooking the machine. Four suggestions: 1. Use a wet dry vac to **** out any remaining water first. I even tipped the machine a bit to try and get as much water out as possible. 2. Lay down lots of towells, you won't **** out all the water with a vacuum. 3. Lay the washer on its side so as not to damage the door and control knob 4. Unplug the W/D first!!!.

Hanseren's solution of tipping the machine on its side and accessing the coin trap worked perfectly. The coin trap is a small plastic cup that sits in the bellows (the accordian tube). I loosened the metal o-ring and gently pulled the tube from the connection to access the trap, which was filled with pet hair and other disgusting gunk. Make sure to have a lot of towels and before sure to unplug the machine from the ac outlet. I disconnected the water supply too. Thanks Hanseren; you saved me the time and expense of a service call. BTW, I will not be buying another Frigidaire product. What a moronic design for a coin trap!

You don't have to take off the front! Just come up through the bottom and clean the filter. It looks like the bottom was designed to be an access point for the filter and pump. :) Mine was clogged with loose change and a plastic tag and masses of lint.

This worked for me to fix the drainage problem (I just bought the machine and in my excitement forgot to take the manual out of the tub before washing Oops! Made paper mache in the drain!) But once we set it back upright it won't start and says E31. Did anyone else have this problem?

For some reason when I hook the hose back up it leaks. Did anyone else have this problem

After following advice, were able to clear filter and get back to doing laundry. now we have leaking. husband tightened hose clamps, leaking lessened but didn't stop. Any ideas?

We contacted technical support and they sent an expert who unfortunately did nothing since at that very instance the machine decided to work just fine, but not a day passed when it was doing the same thing- E20.  My husband an I were upset, we had to wait a week until they came by the first time and we were not going to wait a day more.  My husband googled at he found this page and it was so helpful, we did exactly what was illustrated and the coins were everywhere and other things that were not coins such as intimate attire, my husband and I laughed and said thank God we got to this and not a repairman, I would have been so embarrassed.  Thanks for your assistance.
