I don't see any HDMI leads on this TV. If there aren't any its usually the first sign that is isn't digital. I'm checking the tuner.

Pg 19 indicates plugging in an HDTV tuner box.

Pg 40 indicates the channel frequencies. There should be an indication on this chart that frequencies with a decimal point can be utilized.

Pg 47 covers the setup for your screen and viewing HD and talks about the aspect ratio. It covers 480p, 720p, and 1080i. Most stations are using 720p and some are upgrading to 1080i. It looks like you get very little control of the aspect ratio but it will do HD depending on what the signal picks up from the tuner.

If you use cable TV you can try getting an HD tuner box and see if it works or sign up for the digital tuner coupons. That box will plug right in.

The TV you have was made prior to the DTV standard, so it will not have that capability built in.

However there are two easy fixes.

1) If you have cable such as Comcast, they will automatically start providing the Digital signal conversion inside the cable box for you so you will be fine. I believe the satellite providers will also be offering this feature.
2) If you watch TV from an antenna, then you can purchase a set-top converter for like $40 and request a coupon from the government that covers most if not all of that cost. You will want to check on the coupon first, because I believe you need that when you purchase the converter.

Either way, you should be able to watch DTV just fine without buying a new TV or other similar big expense.
