check for codes, if none then check fuel pressure and volume with a gage. pressure should be in the area of 35lbs unless this is throttle body which is about 15/18lbs pressure, if this is a vortec motor the pressure is 55lbs. the volume should be about 1 liter in 15 seconds. the vortec injection systems have a problem with the spider fuel lines that go to each injector cracking/breaking causing no fuel supply and leaking into the intake manifold and not going into the cylinders.
Start with plug and plug wires, This is the most common problem with a missfire. Can check by pulling plug wire off the plug with a pair of plyers and see if it is fireing, If it is fireing of it will cause the motor to boug down when you remove, then replace and will start back running the way it was , Do this on all 4 cly's and see witch one is your problem and replace. Good luck to ya.
if i were you i would leave the bolt alown,,its a hell of a job getting them back in,,,as for the triger i know there a bit on the heavy side to pull at nearly 4 lbs but its a safe pull, you could drop the gun into a gum smith and get him to snip off a coil off the triger pull spring,,and stone the sear,, but be warned it will make the triger twitchy,,you realy dont wont to light a triger on a hunting rifle 4 - 6 lbs is normal

Release the wire feed rollers, turn the wire feed dial up to maximum ensure you are well away from the earth clamp, pull the triger, you should hear the relay click in, if it dosn't check the 5 mil anti serge fuse positioned on either the front of the set or on the control panel near the wire feed rollers inside the cabinet. usualy covered by a plastic screwed knob, make sure the unit is unpluged before any testing.
