I need a list of your Optiplex's GX (all models) as to how old the technology is.

dell lists all the models on their support website.
see
http://support.dell.com/support/downloads/index.aspx?c=us&cs=19&l=en&s=dhs

choose "select model"
then "optiplex"

the oldest one I remember working on was a optiplex gx1

Dell Optiplex GX1 not recognizing all hard drives.

Hello,
If you connect the drives using one single ribbon cable with two connectors on it then you need to set the drives to Master/Slave using the jumpers on the drives. Master being your OS drive.
If you are running a very old Operating System, make sure it can support a 20GB drive.

Dell screen (1901FP) won't come out of power saver mode

hold down the Fn and F8 keys, and it worked fine for me. or if your problem is you cannot wake from power saving mode (after your PC goes to sleep, then its probably just the driver for your video card). VISTA has some issues with certain drivers that the PC cannot wake from sleep

Dell optiplex

you will need to go into system maintenance/loacte sound and insure that the motherboard has sent the request to reflect your sound card is there. if no sound card is listed you will need to do a add/remove hardware search. see computer/right click on properties and then device manager, then go to sound and see if all device drivers are there.

Black Screen

check your video card and try to go to windows recovery console or advance boot up options it seems the monitor self test passes!! if your video card is fine then its a video driver issue.
